The Forrester Law Firm Women in Criminal Defense Scholarship

After a dozen years of working exclusively as a criminal defense attorney, I can say anecdotally that of those who persevere, women criminal defense lawyers (although significantly outnumbered by men) are, in my experience, often some of the most creative and thoughtful practitioners in this area of law. This scholarship is intended to bolster a woman in her third year of law school who intends to pursue a career in criminal defense, notwithstanding the factors that might discourage her along the way, with an aim toward someday being a part of a criminal defense bar that is more inclusive.
